Car On The Moon
Car On The Moon was formed in 2008 around a lullaby and a backbeat. Since then the band has been meticulously subtracting and adding musicians and instruments, marrying sounds and styles and carefully crafting a body of songs both intimate and multifaceted.
Elias Orling, a bassist at heart, approaches songwriting with rhythm at the core, allowing his candid lyrics to shift to the forefront. Orling’s voice, joined with that of multi-instrumentalist Sylvia Chen, creates bright harmonies, texturing the unadorned melodies with richness and depth. The pairing of Steve Ferrara’s vibrant bass playing with Danny Festa’s dynamic drumming creates space for the songs, while grounding them in traditional blues and rock and roll rhythms. With songs about love, percussion, water, radios, echoes and scales, Car On The Moon released their self-titled, full-length debut album in 2011.
The Music Slut says of Car On The Moon, “a sound that brings to mind Bon Iver”
